CONTENT CALENDAR + PLANNING PROCESS

how I set up my content every month + stick to a consistent posting schedule

Here’s how I plan my content at the beginning of every month. I start with the same blank monthly template (you can download a version for free here!). While the planning process is different for everyone and every industry, I hope that sharing my method will help you become more organized and help you stick to a consistent posting schedule to grow and sustain your business.

As I said above, I start with the blank template below.

Next, I add all the national holidays that would be relevant to my business and that I might want to create content for. Some of these include fun food holidays (like National Margarita Day) and national holidays like Valentine’s Day or Halloween. I use this website to find both national holidays as well as fun ones.

Here are some examples of holiday graphics that I have made in the past:

After adding all the holidays onto my calendar, I then add in my blog post topics (which I’m planning to post every other Friday), my Shop launch dates, and other important dates that are specific to my business. I start this process during the final week of each month so I know how many posts I need to create for the following month. I create posts only about a week in advance because my content changes from week-to-week depending on when clients want to launch and such.

I don’t plan out my specific posts for the entire month — only the “specialty” ones. Everything else I plan each week at a time because I find that this a lot less overwhelming, and it fits well with the way my creative process works. I want to have time to create posts like my Zodiac tarot cards, but I also want the flexibility to come up with creative concepts on-the-go.

The last thing that I do before each month starts is I set goals for the month (both personal and for my business), and I also reflect on the previous month’s goals, accomplishments, and how I can improve for the next month. I also write down the beginning analytic numbers for the month — I know this can be done virtually but I love having it here because I can look back on growth and reflect.

I want to hear how you plan, so let me know on my latest insta post or DM me!

Here is the template that is available for free download in my shop!
